To act in support of the National mission of Trout Unlimited - to conserve, protect, and restore cold water fisheries and their watersheds, through education and conservation efforts focused in Rensselaer County, New York State.
Taconic Hiking Club
Their primary responsibility is to maintain the 37-mile long Taconic Crest Trail and work in conjunction with New York’s Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and Massachusetts’ Department of Recreation and Forests. The Taconic Hiking Club is the sole agency able to patrol and maintain the entire length of the trail and report conditions to all other agencies involved.
Grafton Trail Blazers is a 501c3 not for profit all volunteer organization that maintains 55 miles of trails thru Brunswick, Pittstown, Grafton and Berlin.
Membership of the club entitles member to reduced snowmobile fees. But more importantly, you will have the opportunity to meet many fellow snowmobilers that enjoy the sport as much as you do and form friendships with a common interest.

Welcome to our Partner Organizations!
With the dawn of a New Year, the Board of Directors and Officers of the Friends of Grafton are renewing our efforts to bring our other user Groups back to the Table here in the Park by offering a new format for “Partner” organizations who choose to join FGLSP.
We are offering organizations who use the Park a unique opportunity for growth and networking with Friends and other groups who share a love of Grafton Lakes State Park. A Partner Group will pay a membership fee of $50 per year. In return, the FGLSP will coordinate with the Partner Group to promote their Events and Activities using our on-line resources, as well as local media. These resources include access to the FGLSP Website, Facebook Page, On-line Calendar of Events and the real-time Meetup page.
Each Group who joins will be linked to the FGLSP Website so that visitors to the FGLSP Website will be able to directly access the Partner Group’s website from ours. Partner Groups will also be asked to provide content and articles for the FGLSP quarterly Newsletter, so the Partner Groups can raise awareness and interest in their activities and get more participation and new members.
The Park Manager and OPR&HP has generously offered that each of the Partner Groups will be able to reserve the Tom Conklin Memorial Program Tent, located between the Beach and the new Welcome Center, for picnics, events and programs, free of charge once a year. This will encourage Partner Groups to hold at least one Event per year here at the Park, which they might have chosen to hold elsewhere. It is one way that FGLSP can reach out in a positive way to offer something in return for helping us grow the Friends networking capacity and we can get our Partner Groups names out there and in the public eye!
Lastly, I would encourage all of you to share this with any organizations that you may already belong to, who use the Park, and who may benefit from this Partner Group program. The more Groups that we have join us in this expansion effort, the more networking and community we can build here at Grafton!
